Terms of Service
As of: June 2026
Provider: sareba Computer & Software e.U.
1. Scope
These terms apply to all services that the provider delivers via the geoips.info platform. By registering or using the platform, the user accepts these terms. Deviating terms of the user apply only with the provider's express written consent. If the user is a consumer within the meaning of the Austrian Consumer Protection Act (KSchG), the mandatory statutory provisions in favour of consumers take precedence in any case.
2. Services
The provider offers an API for IP geolocation. The scope of service (rate limits, daily volume) depends on the plan chosen by the user (Free, Starter, Hobby, Pro, Unlimited).
3. Registration and account
Registration is free of charge and requires a valid e-mail address and e-mail verification. The user is responsible for keeping their access credentials (API keys, password) confidential.
4. Usage rules
The user shall use the API only within the applicable rate limits. The following are prohibited in particular: sharing API keys with third parties, creating multiple accounts to circumvent limits, automated attacks / scraping beyond the permitted scope, and any unlawful use.
In the event of a violation, the provider is entitled to suspend the account after prior warning with a reasonable deadline; in the case of serious violations (e.g. attacks, unlawful use) also immediately. In the case of a justified suspension, fees already paid in advance for the service period not yet rendered are refunded on a pro-rata basis. The provider's statutory claims for damages remain unaffected.
5. Prices and payment
All prices stated to consumers are total prices including statutory VAT. Towards businesses, prices may be shown net plus VAT; with a valid EU VAT ID from another EU country, the reverse-charge procedure may apply. The total amount payable is clearly displayed before the order process is completed.
Billing is monthly in advance via the chosen payment service provider (Stripe or PayPal). The subscription automatically renews for a further billing period unless it is cancelled. Cancellation is possible at any time effective at the end of the current billing period - directly in the customer portal at https://geoips.info/portal/billing.
6. Right of withdrawal for consumers (Austrian Distance and Off-Premises Contracts Act, FAGG)
6.1 Withdrawal instructions
Right of withdrawal. You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day of conclusion of the contract.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us
sareba Computer & Software e.U., Vorgartenstraße 441, A-2145 Hausbrunn, E-Mail: it@sareba.net
by means of a clear statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or an e-mail) of your decision to withdraw from this contract. You may use the model withdrawal form below, but this is not mandatory. To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient that you send your notification of the exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period expires.
Consequences of withdrawal. If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse all payments received from you without undue delay and at the latest within fourteen days from the day on which we receive notification of your withdrawal. For this reimbursement we use the same means of payment that you used for the original transaction.
6.2 Early expiry of the right of withdrawal (digital service)
For a contract on the supply of digital services, the right of withdrawal expires early if you have expressly consented to us beginning performance before the end of the withdrawal period and you have acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal (§ 18 (1) (11) FAGG). We obtain this consent during the order process via a separate, express confirmation.
6.3 Model withdrawal form
(If you wish to withdraw from the contract, please complete this form and return it.)

7. Availability
The provider strives for high availability but cannot guarantee it. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where possible. There is no claim to a specific availability quota unless expressly agreed.
8. Warranty
The statutory warranty provisions apply. The geodata originate from public sources (MaxMind-compatible format) and may contain inaccuracies; no guarantee is given for the correctness of the geo-assignment.
9. Liability
Towards businesses, the provider is liable only for intent or gross negligence; liability for slight negligence, indirect damage, consequential damage, lost profit or data loss is excluded - to the extent legally permissible - and limited in amount to the fee paid in the last year.
Towards consumers, the statutory liability provisions apply exclusively; liability for personal injury as well as for intent and gross negligence is not limited.
10. Data protection
The separate privacy policy at https://geoips.info/legal/datenschutz applies.
11. Final provisions
Austrian law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Towards businesses, the place of jurisdiction is the court with subject-matter jurisdiction in Korneuburg. Towards consumers, the statutory place of jurisdiction (in particular the consumer's place of residence under § 14 KSchG or the Brussels Ia Regulation) remains unaffected. Should individual provisions be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected; invalid provisions are replaced by the statutory rule.
12. Language
The legally binding version of these terms is the German one. This English translation is provided for convenience only.
